A delegation from Directorate for Mine Action discussed with the director of Diyala Environment Directorate, over two days in Diyala Governorate, the direction of the General Secretariat of Ministers Council regarding the necessity of ensuring the needed financial allocations within the annual budget of governorate in order to conduct the activities of technical survey, demining and quality control of anti-personnel mine fields. 

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Khalid Rashad, said that the meetings are also included in the framework of Iraq’s accession to OTTAWA Convention (APMBC) in order to implement the detailed updated plan to request the extension of convention that was previously presented by DMA with the rest of other partners to the Fifth Article Committee of convention within the Fourth Review Conference that was held at the end of last year.
