The Directorate for Mine Action, one of the directorates of the Ministry of Health and Environment, organized a technical meeting with the office of (PM/WRA).

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood, said that the meeting, who chaired it, included in its membership from the iraqi part, the Assistant D.G of DMA, head of RMAC-North, head of RMAC-South and the head of international cooperation section. While, the officer of mine action to Iraq in the U.S State Department( Natali Al-Wazir) represented the American government and a representative from IMMAP.

Mahmood added, that the meeting included a discussion for the implementation of the grants provided by the international organizations in order to support the activities and programs of mine action in Iraq, reviewing the priorities of works of national mine action program in Iraq of 2021 as well as a presentation on the reality of the works in the liberated provinces from ISIS terrorist gangs, provided by the head of RMAC-North. Also, the head of RMAC-South provided a similar presentation about the activities of mine action in the southern provinces and the most important challenges and needs for continuing the implementation of national mine action program.
