The Directorate for Mine Action, one of the directorates of the Ministry of Health and Environment, carried out an awareness campaign for the families leaving IDPs camps in Al-Namrood subdistrict/ Al-hamdaniya district in Nineveh province.

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood, said that the awareness staff of RMAC-North and Awareness and Media Department of DMA carried out this campaign for the families leaving Al-salamiya camps (1,2) and heading to their original places in Sinjar and Al-ba’aj districts. The campaign included providing raising awareness sessions  and distributing leaflets, posters and media materials to the leaving families which reached to (400) family. 

Mahmood added that the campaign included a follow up by awareness staff for awareness activities that are implemented by (Sharitee) organization in IDPs camps for the remaining families in it in order to evaluate its awareness and media activities of mines and ERW risk education within the Quality Assurance Standards of awareness activity (QA).
