The Directorate for Mine Action, one of the directorates of the Ministry of Health and Environment, held the first coordination meeting of 2021 with the NGOs  Department in the General Secretariat of Ministers Council in Erbil.

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood, said that the meeting which attended by the Director of Governmental Communication Office in the office of Secretary General of the General Secretariat of Ministers Council, included a discussion for the mechanisms of granting the security permissions, access letters and reviewing the process of granting the entry visas to Iraq and how to provide the support to organizations by DMA with regard to expand its activities by opening new branches in the southern provinces.

Mahmood added that the meeting, which was supported by IMMAP and presented a technical presentation on contamination of EO and the environmental factors that negatively affect on the development of southern regions in Iraq, included a review of all observations and proposals that submitted by the organizations working within the national mine action program in Iraq.
