Under the logan ( Perseverance, Partnership, Progress) 

The Directorate for Mine Action, one of the directorates of the Ministry of Health and Environment, celebrated, today, Sunday, the International Day for Mine Awareness in Baghdad.

The Director General of DMA, Eng.Dhafir Mahmood, said that the celebration was held under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr.Hassan Mohammed Abbas Al-Temimi, with support by UNMAS, and in the presence of representatives of the ministries, departments and other authorities that supported the national mine action program in Iraq in addition to the representatives of the embassies of donor countries and organizations and companies that accredited to work within the activities of the national program.

Mahmood added ”the celebration included many activities, where the Administrative Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment, Dr. Kamran Ali Hassan, presented the speech on behalf of the Minister of Health and Environment, in which he explained the humanitarian national and international effort made at the level of awareness, which was one of the tremendous respectable efforts as it did not leave an affected local community unless communicated with it by providing all the necessary  information and humanitarian and logistical requirements.
