The Directorate for Mine Action held a technical meeting with a delegation from the International Organizations and Conferences Department at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baghdad.

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood, said that the meeting which attended by the Director General of International Organizations and Conferences Department/ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abass Kadhum Obaid, included a review on the state parties meetings of the international conventions of mine action and the review conferences of the international conventions in order to contribute in sustaining and continuing the international support for the activities of the national mine action program in Iraq.

Mahmood added that the meeting also included discussing DMA plan for the current year in light of the success achieved in the conference of donor countries of the national mine action program in Iraq which was taken place last year through direct meetings with the embassies of those countries in addition to reviewing the achievements of the national mine action program and the most important challenges and needs that face its field works.
