The Directorate for Mine Action held a technical meeting with a delegation from French Embassy to discuss the activities of the national mine action program, at the headquarters of DMA in Baghdad.

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood, said that the meeting included a discussion for the work mechanisms of national mine action program in Iraq and discussing the procedures for registering the companies and organizations before granting them the accreditation to work within the national mine action program according to the priorities of national mine action plan in the liberated areas from terrorist ISIS gangs and border line with Iran as well as the contamination of mines in the southern provinces of Iraq.

Mahmood added that the French Government gives a great importance to Thi-Qar province due to its historical background, cultural depth and the legacy it represents on the humanitarian  level in the world.
