The Directorate for Mine Action held a technical meeting with UNMAS at the headquarters of DMA in Baghdad.

The Director General of DMA, Eng.Dhafir Mahmood, said that the meeting which attended by the Director of UNMAS (Mr.Pehr Lodhammer) as well as the projects officer in UNMAS, Mrs. Sharmeela, who started her work in project management of mine action in Iraq, included a review of the joint technical efforts between DMA, UNMAS and French Government on providing the support regarding the preparation of the national mine action standard of underwater demining. 

Mahmood added that the meeting also included extensive technical discussions on developing the International Mosul Airport by the French companies after completing the works of mine action in addition to discussing the work to update the mechanism for issuing the task orders that issued by DMA to the implemented authorities as well as discussing the technical plans to visit Al-Najaf province and another similar visit to the embassies of donor countries for mine action in Nineveh province within the activities of the national mine action program in Iraq.
