The Directorate for Mine Action discussed the most important priorities, needs and requirements of mine action in Iraq with the United Nations Mine Action Services (UNMAS), today, Tuesday, at the HQ of DMA.

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood Khalaf, said that his directorate was presented to the representatives of UNMAS, the most important priorities and needs of projects over the next two years within the framework of obtaining the international grants in order to start implementation, provided that this implementation is consistent with the national mine action strategy as well as the most important governmental priorities in this regard.

 The D.G of DMA also indicated in his speech presented in this event, the need to pay great attention to the projects of survey, demining and quality management in the contaminated areas in southern provinces by the international community, in response to the requirements  of implementing Iraq’s obligations towards international conventions.
