The Directorate for Mine Action held the third technical meeting of national and international  work team and United Nations agencies according to the (action# 44) of Oslo Action Plan, emanating from the Fourth Review Conference of Anti-personnel Mine Ban Convention, at its HQ in Baghdad.

The Director General of DMA, Eng.Dhafir Mahmood, said that the meeting which was held over two days, attended by representatives from the ministries of (Defense, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Planning, Financial, Sciences and Technology, Oil, Industry and Minerals and Trade), Popular Mobilization Commission, Military Industrialization Corporation, Border Port Commission, Communications  and Media Commission, JCMC, representatives from the contaminated provinces and heads of Environment Directorates in it, IKMAA and UNMAS.

Mahmood added that the meeting included discussing the national and international mechanisms of coordination for the optimal implementation of Iraq’s obligations towards the convention which is the main objective of (action# 44) and find opportunities to facilitate the procedures of national works of mine action within the activities of Iraqi national mine action program.
