DMA: A field investigation in cooperation with the Military Engineering Directorate to start the works of survey in Karbala’a province
The technical staff of Directorate for Mine
Action, one of the formations of the Ministry of Environment, carried out a
technical investigation in cooperation with the Military Engineering
Directorate/Ministry of Defense for the purpose of conducting survey and
clearance works in Karbala’a province.
The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir
Mahmood, said that the technical investigation which carried out by the
technical staff of RMAC-Middle Euphrates, is as a result of the success
achieved in updating works of the non-technical survey carried out previously
in the province which contributed in the reduction of dangerous areas and land
release that were suspected contamination as well as identifying the hazardous areas more
accurately.
Mahmood added, “ it is hoped that the Military
Engineering Directorate will start the
clearance works in the dangerous areas
that were previously marked within Al-Saqi project of Al-Abassiya Holy Shrine,
which is considered one of the vital projects in the province that contributes
in supporting the agricultural sector”.
