The technical staff of Directorate for Mine Action, one of the formations of the Ministry of Environment, started the works of updating the non-technical survey on both sides of Karkh and Risafa in the capital, Baghdad.

The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood, said that the technical staff of RMAC-Middle Euphrates in cooperation with Civil Defense Directorate/Baghdad-Karkh and in coordination with Baghdad Operations Command, started the works of updating NTS of the dangerous areas marked within DMA database.

Mahmood added that the start of technical activities during the last month on both sides of Karkh and Risafa contributed to the release of suspected areas   whether inside Baghdad or in the outskirts of its surroundings, such as Al-Mahmodiya, Al-Yusifiya and Abu-Gharib areas.
