During the workshop organized by Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) on needs assessment and capacity building of employees of the national mine action program and national authority, The Technical Deputy Minister, authorized with the Administrative, Financial and Technical Powers of the Minister of Environment, Dr. Jassim Abd Al-Aziz Al-Falahi, confirmed in his speech presented in the workshop that "the responsibilities of saving the communities affected by risks of mines and other remnants of war is joint and participatory responsibilities and include the international effort in general”, stressing on the necessity to give great importance to the issue of capacity building by all international and national efforts in order to accelerate the clearance and demining works and other mine action activities.

From his part, the Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood Khallaf, confirmed on the importance of creating such informational and experience interaction between all the authorities working in various mine action fields, which contribute in reducing the risks of mines and other remnants of war, indicating that this workshop which supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is included within this concept and framework.
