The Directorate for Mine Action/RMAC-South announced that the Danish Ambassador, Mr. Stig Paolo Piras, reviewed the reality of contamination and survey and clearance activities carried out by DRC in Shatt Al-Arab district/ Basra governorate.
“During the visit of Danish Ambassador and the delegation accompanied him to one of the agricultural sites that contaminated with ERW in Shatt Al-Arab in which DMA authorized DRC to conduct survey and clearance activities in it”, The Director General of DMA, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood Khallaf, explained that the head of RMAC-South, Eng. Nibras Fakhir Al-Temimi, welcomed the Danish Ambassador and expressed about the thankful and appreciation to the Danish Government and people for their efforts provided to the Iraqi national mine action program in general and for Basra governorate in particular, as well as Mr. Al-Timimi presented an accurate presentation included the contamination reality throughout the southern region and the challenges facing the program’s progress in addition to the efforts made by all implemented authorities working in this field.
