On Thursday, the Director-General of the Directorate for Mine Action, Eng. Dhafir Mahmood Khallaf, met, in his office, the delegation of the Ministry of Health / Directorate of Operations and Emergency Medical Services, and discussed with them the mechanisms to provide the best humanitarian initiatives for the victims of mines and remnants of war in all Iraqi governorates. From his part, the official spokesman of DMA indicated that the delegation of the Ministry of Health, which was headed by the Head of the Rehabilitation and Protection of Disability Department, Dr. Abd Al-Nasir Kamel Ibrahim, and the membership of the Head of the Rehabilitation Division, Dr. Husam Hassan, and the Head of the Statistics Division, Mrs. Nassim Jaafar, discussed with the Director General of DMA the need to strengthen the joint cooperation at the level of collecting the information of victims and monitoring the emergency injuries in the affected areas, as well as the importance of providing medical aids to the victims’ segment according to the form approved by DMA, in addition to the importance of providing DMA with the victims’ data in order to present it to the international community, which enhances obtaining the international grants supporting that this issue, and the necessity to support the stakeholders in the rehabilitation centers and the institutions of prosthetic industry in all local and international meetings, which subsequently develops work methods and positively reflects on the quality of production. It is noteworthy that the head of Victim Assistance Department, Eng. Alaa Fadel, and the assistant head of Victim Assistance Department, Mr. Riyad Nasir, had attended this meeting with the aim of continuing to strengthen the communication and coordination with all relevant institutional authorities.
