On Saturday, the Director General of DMA, Dr. Sabah Hassan Al-Hussaini, met, in his office, the Advisor of the Permanent Mission of Spain for Disarmament to the United Nations in Geneva, Juan Manglano, and reviewed in detail the nature of the work of the National  Mine Action Program in Iraq.

 From his part, the official spokesman of DMA stated that the meeting, in which the directors of the RMACs and departments had participated, at the level of technical presentation and accurate professional interventions, as it had included presenting a comprehensive information of the contamination size that Iraq is currently suffering from, and the percentage of the completed and remaining clearance work so far, as well as the axes of EORE, Victim Assistance, advocacy for conventions and  information management for mine action IMSMA in general, pointing out that the advisor of Spanish Mission had presented, for his part, details related to capacity building, awareness-raising, survey and clearance, as well as international conferences in which Iraq could participate, which enhances attracting the united nations and international interest for this important issue.

It is noteworthy that DMA is the authority concerned with managing the national mine action program, with all the organizations and national effort involved in the field of mine action.
