On Thursday, the Director General of DMA, Dr. Sabah Hassan Al-Hussaini, met, in his office, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Baghdad, Mr. Al-Sayd Ali Al-Sayd, and briefed him on the extent of the benefits achieved if Libya joins the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM).

 From his part, the official spokesman of DMA stated that the meeting, which was also attended by a number of concerned staff of DMA, discussed the nature of the work of the Iraqi national mine action program, the size of contamination, plans and implemented work programs, as well as the benefits obtained from the countries’ accession to the CCM at the level of technical, material, logistical and training support.

 It is noteworthy that Iraq had joined CCM since 2013 and is currently chairing the eleventh session of this convention, which includes about (123) states from different countries of the world.
