On Tuesday, on the occasion of the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, the Directorate for Mine Action announced the seriousness of the national mine action program to overcome all the challenges and obstacles that hinder its progress at the present time.

 In his speech presented during the ceremony, the Assistant Director General of DMA, Mr. Bakir Sahib Ahmed, stressed the importance of national and international partnerships in strengthening the role of the national mine action program, explaining that the clearance rates had exceeded 50% of the total contamination rates in all affected areas at the time of the number of awareness campaigns amounted to more than (3,600) campaigns, with more than three million beneficiaries, male and female of these campaigns.

 It is noteworthy that DMA is conducting continuous awareness and guidance campaigns targeting all affected communities in the Iraqi governorates in general.
