The Head of Victim Assistance Department in DMA, Eng. Alaa Fadel, met with the Director of Al-Rasoul Al-Azam medical Rehabilitation Complex Center of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Dr. Ayad Ali, in the framework of finding joint cooperation to provide medical and therapeutic services to the victims of mines and ERW.

From his part, the official spokesman of DMA stated that Mrs. Fadel had informed the director of Al- Rasoul Center about the nature of DMA tasks in general and the role and nature of the work of the Victim Assistance Department in particular emphasizing on the coordinating role that its department plays with the rest of the official institutional bodies concerned with the provision of therapeutic services, and thus reflects the progress made by Iraq in terms of its membership of the international conventions to which Iraq was joined earlier.

At a time when the director of Al- Rasoul Center expressed his center's readiness to activate joint cooperation with DMA in this regard, to receive victims of mines and ERW, and to include them in the services provided by the center, according to the available capabilities.

It is noteworthy that the Popular Mobilization Authority had recently joined the national effort working in the various fields of mine action, and there is remarkable and distinguished cooperation with them that is currently taking place at the level of area clearance and data entry of the areas cleared by them earlier within IMSMA database approved by DMA.
