The Minister of Environmemt, Nizar Amedi, at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva and on the marginal of NDM-UN26, met the Director of  GICHD, Ambassador Stefano Tocsano, and discussed with him the GICHD’s efforts in supporting the mine action in Iraq to clear mines and ERW.

From his part, the Director General of DMA, Dr. Sabah Hassan Al-Hussaini, stated that the Minister appreciated the role of GICHD in its active participation in the preparation of the National Mine Action Strategy for the years 2023-2028, which was approved recently.

It is noteworthy that the DMA strategy 2023-2028, which was recently approved by the Higher National Committee for Mine Action, was prepared and implemented in partnership with GICHD and other local and international partners.
