On Thursday, the Director General of DMA, Dr. Sabah Hassan Al-Hussaini, met, in his office the representative of the British company G4S, and discussed with him the possibility of benefiting from the company's experiences in terms of using modern technologies such as drones used in the various mine action activities.

From his part, Al-Hussaini indicated that DMA is currently in the process of many important strategic projects, such as the clearance of the land of Al-Nibras Petrochemical Project, which Shell will undertake to establish it in coordination with the Ministry of Industry in Al-Zubair district within Basra Governorate, as well as the development road project in Al-Faw district and Basra-Shalamjah railway line, which magnifies the need to introduce modern technologies such as drones that can shorten effort, time and costs at the level of field surveys that are usually conducted by using traditional methods that are not updated, pointing out that DMA is now in the process of presenting a proposal made by UNMAS to train some of its employees on the optimal use of these aircraft and the techniques of their technical uses.

It is noteworthy that DMA is the authority concerned with managing the national mine action program, in accordance with the series of NMAS and IMAS that are currently in force.
